Dental aligners, also known as clear-aligners, are transparent, almost invisible thermoplastic braces. These dental braces are used for aligning/straightening teeth.
Aligners have some great advantages over diced braces, they are almost invisible. You have no dietary restrictions. And because they’re easy to remove, there’s no obstacle to brushing or flossing your teeth.
Compared to traditional dental wires and braces, aligners are significantly more comfortable.
It’s easy to remove aligners and eat whatever you want. There are no wires or blocks/brackets to catch food or get in the way when you brush or floss.
Aligners are transparent and colorless and don’t stand out when you smile, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them.
You can only drink cold water while wearing your aligners, hot drinks will warp and/or make the aligners dirty. It is recommended that you always remove your aligners before eating and drinking.
Use cool water and a soft toothbrush to gently brush the saliva and plaque off the aligner.
You have to wear your aligners for 22 hours a day.
A retainer is a removable transparent plastic brace for the best possible preservation of the end result after the treatment. By using the braces you keep the teeth in their new position. It should be worn at night.
While individual treatment times vary for everyone, you will see visible results within two to three months of starting treatment.
